The Office for National Statistics release data with a time lag of around six weeks.  This page provides you with the very latest provisional data.

Note: The International Passenger Survey is based on a sample of departing visitors, therefore all figures are 'estimates'.  Additionally spending estimates rely on respondents being able to accurately recollect how much they have spent during their visit to Britain.  The number of visitors interviewed varies from month to month, but is typically between 4,000 and 5,000.

Latest quarterly data

This Excel file contains two worksheets, each in the form of a pivot-table, covering data through to the most recently released Office for National Statistics quarterly dataset (there is typically a four month time-lag between the end of a quarter and release of data by the Office for National Statistics).   Please do not use this file if you require annual data, instead consult either our Latest Full Year Data or Trend and Historical Data pages.   

The first worksheet covers data (for visits, nights and spend) by; country of residence, mode of travel, purpose of visit, duration of stay and three-month period.   The second worksheet includes information for major regions (London, Rest of England, Total England, Scotland and Wales).   Data (for visits, nights and spend) are shown for; country of residence, purpose of visit and three-month period.
