England Tourism Campaigns Voted Among the Best in the UK
Two of VisitBritain’s marketing campaigns have been recognised as among the most powerful communications in the UK’s travel industry.

15 October 2007

The Enjoy England Rural Escapes and England Rocks campaigns – both launched in 2007 by the national tourism agency’s England marketing division – scooped a hat-trick of Gold medals at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Industry Group (CIMTIG) Travel Advertising Awards.

England Rocks – showcasing destinations and locations linked to England’s rock and pop heritage – won ‘best online interactive campaign’ and ‘best website’, recognising the innovative work by Enjoy England and creative agency, Milton Bayer Creative. Rural Escapes won ‘best brochure’ – designed by Front – in the Awards for its portrayal of the variety of destinations in England’s countryside and along its coastline.

Laurence Bresh, general manager  for VisitBritain’s England marketing division, says: “It’s fantastic news that our work to promote England’s vibrant tourism industry is being hailed as the best and most innovative in the country. I hope the campaigns also inspire British consumers to spend more time on holiday in their own country.

“These awards are a credit to our staff and agencies, Milton Bayer and Front, and give us even more impetus to excel in future campaigns.”

The CIMTIG awards come hot on the heels of enjoyengland.com voted Europe’s Leading Tourist Information Website by 167,000 travel organisations at the World Travel Awards. CIMTIG is the UK's leading industry focused marketing association in one of the country's most vibrant industry sectors - the UK travel industry.

Its Travel Advertising Awards highlight the creme de la creme of the marketing sector. They are designed to recognise the best creative work in the industry, encourage the highest standards and to set a benchmark for other industries to follow. Now in their 35th year, they are firmly established as one of the most prestigious events in the industry.
