The National Spa Accreditation Scheme was launched at the Professional Spa Show in London on February 22nd. The scheme provides consumers with reassurance and confidence that participating spas have met minimum standards for health and safety, cleanliness and service and that they are committed to improving quality. Development involved visiting many spas and extensive customer research with their clients. Visiting a spa is thought of as a luxury experience, so accreditation is more appropriate than a star-rating scheme. Spas which are exceptional will, however, be awarded Gold accolades.
