The short listed finalists range from a small local history museum in Suffolk – Moyse’s Hall Museum to one of the most high profile attractions in London – The London Eye; a Michelin-starred B&B in Cornwall – St Ervan Manor to a country house hotel outside Newcastle – Matfen Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa. The 33 finalists were chosen after detailed assessment by a board of judges including representatives from the tourism industry, the media and consumers.

In total there are 12 different categories, including two new awards:  Taste of England  to reward tourism businesses who champion local produce and Best Tourism Experience  to reward tourism businesses that provide an innovative experience.

The winners of will be announced at the national Awards ceremony to be held at Madame Tussauds in London on 20 April 2006 – just prior to St George’s Day (23 April).
